What Two Free AI Creations a Day Actually Gets You

The free tier of an AI photo app is easy to describe and hard to be honest about. Kitana's is two creations a day, one every four hours, with no card and no sign-up required in the app. This is what those numbers mean, why they are set where they are, and how to get something finished out of them.

The numbers, precisely

• Two photo creations a day. A creation is one generation job: one tool, one photo, one instruction. It resets at midnight.
• One every four hours. After a creation, the next free one unlocks four hours later. The app shows a countdown.
• One free video clip, ever. A short clip rather than the longer, higher-resolution one Pro gets.
• On the web, a welcome allowance on top. One image before you have an account, then three more after you sign up, before the daily allowance applies. Sign in with the same account and the app and the web share the daily limit from then on.
• A failed generation is refunded. If the server cannot produce a result, the slot is returned. Only results count.

None of this is enforced on your phone. Every limit is checked on the server, per account and per device, which is why reinstalling the app does not reset it. The site says the same thing in the same numbers because the site is generated from the same constants that enforce them.

Why the gap exists

A daily limit on its own is a bank: two creations to spend whenever you like. The four-hour gap turns it into a rate, and the rate is the point.

The free tier is there to let you find out whether a tool does what you want. Two results, separated by enough time to look at the first one properly, is a reasonable amount of finding out. It is not enough to iterate on a prompt eight times, and it is not meant to be. The gap also removes the easy abuse: without it, a script or a burst of retries spends the day's allowance in a minute and the allowance has to be smaller to compensate.

Getting a finished result from two creations

Two creations is enough for one good result if you do not waste the first. The pattern that works:

First creation: the safe version. The preset closest to what you want, your best photo, the shortest prompt that says what matters. Do not experiment. The point of this run is to learn how the model reads your photo: does it keep the face, does it get the hair right, does the style land.

Look at it for the whole four hours. Not literally, but do not rush. Notice what is right and what is wrong, and decide the one change that would fix the wrong part. Usually it is the source photo, not the prompt.

Second creation: the fix. Change one thing. If the face drifted, add reference photos with identity lock on the tools that support it; that costs nothing extra. If the hair was wrong, say so in one phrase. If the style was too heavy, pick the milder preset.

Two runs, one change between them, and most people have something they would post. What they do not have is a choice between four samples, and that is the thing to be honest about: the free tier gets you a good result, and Pro gets you the best of several.

Spending creations wisely

Some tools are better first choices than others, because the model's answer is more predictable.

• Tightly constrained tools spend well. Background replacement, object removal, upscaling, photo restoration. The result is close to deterministic, so one run usually lands.
• Loosely constrained tools spend less well. Fantasy portraits, text to image, heavy style transfer. Many plausible answers, and one sample may not be the one you want.
• Video is its own budget. The one free clip does not come out of the two daily creations, so use it on a photo that suits video well.
• Packs are not available free. A pack of two or four is a Pro feature, because each image in the pack is a real generation.

What Pro changes, honestly

Six creations a day with no wait is the number people see. What changes what you can make is the rest:

• Variation packs of two or four per run, so a final image is a choice rather than a hope.
• Ten video clips a month at full length and resolution, instead of one short one ever.
• No watermark on anything you share, and no ads.
• Every new tool as it ships.

The plans are weekly, monthly and yearly, in US dollars, and the pricing page shows all three. The mobile subscription is bought through the App Store or Google Play; the web subscription is bought on the site and cancelled from the account page, which opens the payment provider's portal.
